Default Orca RX2 or Nosram Pure Evo 6.5T?

I'm looking for a new 6.5T and can get the above motors for around £50.

The RX2 seems a better deal because there's more discount but which motor is better? I've heard the Nosram is more prone to overheating but it looks like it has the more modern can design. I want to run it with a Speed Passion LPF. Any idea of the recommended FDR ratio for either in 4wd off-road?

Any tips welcome. Thanks.

When I ran X12's (same as a pure evo) they ran very hot, changing to the orca the temps dropped quite a bit, even though I didn't alter the gearing.

Having run the RX2's for a full season they have never missed a beat, I have also dropped from 6.5 to 7.5 in my 4wd as they are more than quick enough!

The orca's are not as pretty though... the only downside...

Cheers for the reply.

Yes, the LRP/Nosram can does look nice and the soldering tabs look better too.

But a friend of mine said the same about the Orca running cooler.

Will it work well with a SP LPF? Also, roughly what FDR for 4wd Stotfold. I can't seem to find an Orca gearing guide online.

Installed the Speed Passion LPF controller and the Orca 6.5T motor. Running it in down our road, it seems really smooth and the motor wasn't too warm afterwards. I'm running an FDR of about 9.6.

Orca too for me.

Run the 6.5 RX2 at around 9 FDR.

Default disadvantages of reverse?

Just wondering if anyone can help me with this extra question...

Is there any disadvantage, in terms of speed control performance, in running reverse on my Speed Passion LPF? Just wondering whether to turn it off like everyone else. Cheers

Historically all the top speedo's were forward/brake only, this was even more relevant when running a brushed system with a diode.

Reverse is a bad thing, a lot of clubs will not allow you to run reverse as it causes crashes for one, and marshals hate it!! I also think it's banned at all the top meetings.

Learn not to crash....
