Hi I have a core rc 50 charger. I charged my batterys yesterday to take my car out a run. I ended up breaking a part so now I have to storage charge them.
The batterys are nearly fully charged 2cell 5300. It is takin them a long time to get to 7.6 volts. Does it always take a long time I say a hour an a half. And when it came to 7.6 v it did not cut off. If any one could help. Thanks william |

Discharging using a charger always takes a while. As you want too get them about half charged you will be using about 2000mah so even discharging at 1amp should be about 2 hours. Cut off wise not sure for your charger but mine is manual discharge so cutting off is down too the user as long as they are around 7.6 they should be fine though. I usually only srorage mine if not getting used for a long period

I have the discharge rate set to 1A to be safe and rarely use it.
Storage wise batteries are usually somewhere around 7.7/ 7.8V or 65/70% capacity. As this is usually what they finish at after a race anyway there is usually very little I need to do. I do however only charge to 95% capacity as see no point of stressing the batteries to achieve the extra 5% especially with the punch and capacity of lipo's. If you no longer have them at full capacity and somewhere between 60-80% they should be ok to store. |
