Hi All,
I have just joined this website/forum after being out of RCC racing for about 16 years. I originally raced a Procat and Bosscat back in the mid nineties in Gloucestershire at the Dowty Track. Before I stopped racing I purchased a Cougar 2000, assembled it and then disassembled it and put it away. After talking with a mate over the past few days (Roger Mills), I pulled it out of the loft. I am currently unsure what to do with it. Apart from dust all the parts are there, in various boxes, unfortunately original packaging binned long ago. It has never been raced, never had a motor or radio gear fitted, so other than being a little dusty it is like new, even with original tyres with full tread. I kind of want to reassemble it and get it into racing condition, get some gear for it and see it run again, but on the other hand I wonder if I should sell it and look for something up-to-date. So, I thought I would post on the forum to get owners/racers opinions on vintage rc car and the Cougar 2000 as I have been out of the hobby for at least 16 years. Cheers for any thoughts. Matt |

I would also need to get new radio gear for it, any reccomendations for a basic radio gear set up package? Also, how about motor etc? Been out of the hobby for a long long time and the tech has moved on considerably. Matt |

Matt, nice to see you on here!!
We will have a chat in the week, I have enough stuff to get you going and can probably help you with a more up-to-date chassis too (Kyosho of course). |

Yeap, thought I'd join up, the bug for racing is growing, and you are to blame...........plus it's better than working ![]() Just putting the feelers out there for the 2000, weather to rebuild and keep as a thing of beauty, or whether is should be appreciated by someone else ![]() Never going to say no to some loans and assistance in getting going ![]() Speak to you later on this week. Sorry mate ... you never quite manage to kick the "habbit" once you've been a racer, no matter how many years you stay away
![]() The guy running the FAB 2000 was my mate Jake. I'm more than happy to lend you one of my current cars (you can take the spare Lazer FS away and play). I can lend you enough kit to get going other than batteries which might be the stumbling block .... we'll work something out, I have plenty of people to ask for assitance in getting you going ![]() And as has been said, the Mid West region is super friendly. |
