Has anyone had a problem with they rear susp arms part No 3012 breaking or even cracking after a minor tumble whilst racing?
Last weekend I managed to break 3 rear arms in one meeting!! they broke after landing from small jumps. I understand that the arms are only available in graphite. They seem very brittle, maybe plastic is the way to go? |

Not had any issues with them at all to be honest, it is one of our least sold spare parts (and outside of wing mounts and hinge pins there are very few that are "frequent" sellers)

I had a similar problem last winter - I broke 2-3 over the course of the winter and put it down to the cold. I tried boiling the parts to see if it improved the situation but not convinced it made much difference. I broke one late last year following a massive off whilst racing indoors (6 ft high table top collision
![]() Doesn't really help you very much but I can sympathise with your plight...throughout the summer is was mega strong and reliable. |

I've only ever broken 2 rear arms in nearly 4 years of racing the x6, and one of them was on on the x6 non squared... They were big crashes too, so fully expected to see damage! Cant say I've noticed any cracking in the cold weather either?
Maybe you have just been unlucky with some awkward tumbles? |

Perhaps...
I wonder if adding o-rings on the shock shafts to help cushion the uptravel might help, as it could be breaking when the shock is fully compressed but the wheel still wants to move upwards and the wishbone is weaker than the other parts so just cracks? |

done a fair few, seem a side swipe splitas the outer pin mounts i have modded mine to take a bolt as a rally x car does and fitted drill blanks for hinge pins, now bullet proof, will post a pic later

Where abouts are the arms breaking? I'm wondering if it could be due to using a screw of an incorrect size, weakening the part.
I've never broken a rear wishbone, even during indoor racing which is a real killer due to landing on a hard surface. |

all mine have spread the outer pin mounts, no screws there apart from the small on to hold the pin ( where the hub fits the arm spreads alowing the pin to excape)

On mine the hingepins are slightly too long, so if you tighten the retaining screw right up it pushes on the end of the pin, spreading the arms out and making things tight. It's enough to make things bind, but I doubt it's enough to cause the wishbones to break as we're only talking tenths of a mm.

i have suffered from the arm breaking in said place, and i have said its from a side swipe where the wheel is hit and pushed back, nothing about fit and tolerances.

The problem I have is the same as Mark Christopher. I would like to nut and bolt it together like a rallycross 1/8. Do you know where to get the right length and thickness of bolt with a shaft on it from? Thank you |
