Hi all,
I'm in the process of rekindling my RC interest after 9 years out having done a couple of years in 1/10 touring cars so I spent this morning at TORCH watching the off road guys do their stuff. I ended up chatting at length to Wylie and was given lots of useful information and advice (thanks Tony). I also spoke to a few others on the "top table" by the burger van (sorry for not getting your names), all a friendly bunch but as a result, I'm now torn between 2WD and 4WD so will probably end up going for both! Current favourites are Cougar SV and Durango DEX410 but I'd welcome any more suggestions or advice on specing these two up so please feel free to comment, even if it's just to say hello...? Chris |

Hi, & welcome to the forum,
My choices for 2wd, Losi 22, Durango 210, Schumacher Courgar, Team Durango DEX410 V3 when they become available, Team Associated RC10B44.1 Kyosho Lazer ZX-5 FS2 SP a bit pricey compared to the others but well built & Schumacher Cat SX3 Pro CF 1/10 4WD Buggy Kit there are other kits as well Tamiya but I don't know model numbers for there kits and parts may a bit harder to find. Don't forget servo for steering Savox, Futaba, Ace & Sanwa and a transponder for counting the laps, the club does have handout transponders but there a lot of hassle and once you've got your own you'll never have to worry, there are 2 types of transponder (PT) one is called harry and can be found here http://www.bbksoftware.com/ the other type is MRT and can be found here http://www.team-mrt.com/ I believe they sell on ebay and are compatable with the timing equipment the club has. It may be worth joining the club as this will also give you a discount code to use here http://www.jespares.com/. (note) there are other Shops to use online. Li-po's are available from a club member and are very good value. There maybe some club members selling there equipment so if you have something to sell please help. I almost forgot you will probably need some tools as well, AVOID cheap one's as they ruin the screws and the tool as well. If i think of other stuff you may require i'll post on here. Regards Tony. |

I would add it may be worth getting the same make for 2wd and 4wd, as you normally can share some parts and wheels etc. Also there is a replacement Cougar due soon, but if you want the current one JE Spares have them discounted.

I was at off rd wars all weekend, but can vouch forn the Torch lot, great bunch.
I am a schumacher man and have the cougar and sx3, love em......... some parts are interchangeable as mentioned as are other makes, so if you do go for both, good plan to stick with the same breed.... Lots of cougars for sale at discounted prices new or used and the sx3, well, I am biased but its awsome. Schumacher, being british, has awsome backup, i would say the best and parts etc sent out within a day from the main factory.... and lots of stockists...... either way, enjoy mate. welsome back to the best class of RC there is!!!! IMHO ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
