Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get the front wheels off a B4 when the hex has rounded?

get a dremel and cut a slice across the top so you can use a flat bladed screwdriver in it

No hacksaw but dremel worked a beaut, anyone know of any different screws to get other the hex?

put standard b4 front axles in it with a lock nut rather than allen key bolts
