Default Cougar 2 Project

Hi all, heres a quick pic of my cougar 2 project so far. I've fitted many new parts so far. New front and rear wishbones, rear hubs, rear cf shock mount, Both f and r shocks are new bodies, springs, spacers, spring retainers and 2 of the mouldings., so they are 99% brand new. Ive also fitted new wheels and tyres, ballraced steering, rear bulkhead and ecssentrics. Ive got some black turnbuckles to fit and rear wing mounts in the post plus new ball grippas to go around the car. There are a couple of other brand new parts im after if anyone has them, These include rear bumper, front hubs, a c/f front shock mount(schumacher one), front suspension plate and off course the red chassis. I may find somewhere to have mine anodized red as its in v good condition with minimal marking to ther underside. My next job is to spray the bodyshell. Ive included a very crude drawing done on paint of the simple apintjob, Has anyone got any tips on the best masking tape to use. Ive tried cheaper stuff before but it always bleeds.....

Neil

Looking good, another option is to get the chassis powder coated. I did this with a couple and it looked pretty good. Mind you I did get them done in black. There are pics somewhere over on racing-cars.com.

Tamiya masking tape is ok, but liquid paint masks (e.g. by Parma) are the safest way to get flawless results.

Looks very nice, I am building a Cougar up. I had the chassis vapour blasted, it came up really nicely.

I dont suppose you have a spare battery hold down??
