Default Gens Ace Lipos

Hello OOplers!

I'm considering which lipo's to buy. I want to race 1/10th buggies at regional level.

I've seen the Gens Ace lipos on GiantCod and they seem very competitively priced. Does anyone have any experience of these lipos for buggy racing??

Also, will I be checked for which lipo's i'm using at regional BRCA events because i don't think they are on the approved lipo list?

Cheers
Wes

I havent used them but i did do some research on them, and all the reviews i read were favourable, saying they were a great battery and one of the best "performance for your money" lipos.

Definitely worth a try i think.

Here's a link to the BRCA's list, the gen aces arent on there, im not sure if they need to be for regionals.

I was thinking the same today as it happens

Yeah Ross I saw that page but wasn't sure how up to date it was or if it got updated during the year!

I think I'll probably just go for it! At 35 quid for a set of 5000mAh 50C, it's gotta be worth a punt!

I'll just make sure I look after them properly and keep a very watchful eye on them!

Been using these for on road touring so my experience may differ however I've found them to be a very reliable good battery with plenty of punch. Got mine from hobbypartz and were delivered in about 9 days if you want get them cheaper and can wait. There have been issues with some puffing or not balancing after being used a couple of times but for the price you can't really go wrong.

They arent brca approved but mine came with a ROAR approved sticker on them and they seem pretty popular in the states.

Gens ace are very popular at the track I frequent in Southern California. A typical view is that they are nearly as good as packs twice their cost - and any difference in quality is likely not appreciable by the driver.

You would need to check with your regional rep as to whether they use the BRCA approved list or night.

I use them weekly and haven't found them lacking in performance in touring car, buggy or 8th electric.

Thanks for all the responses guys!

Thats decided it for me i'm gunna get some.

I've heard of puffing and other issues on lipos twice the price so thats always a risk.

Cheers

If they are not on the BRCA list you will not be able to use them above club level!
