I would imagine that being tamiya that the 1mm shim will give 1 degree anti squat, I could be wrong on this but it looks that way

Ask Lee Martin in the 'Ask Questions' here in the Tamiya section

Got this from RC-Tech forum: Jimmy Wright explain Antisquat

Using the stock plastic blocks & 1mm plastic shim (J1, J5 & J7) will yield a 3 degree anti-squat.

Here is the "guide":

J5 and 54243 (upside down) 2.0*
J5 and J1 (no Shim) 2.5*
J5 and J1 (1mm Shim) 3.0*
J5 and J1 (2mm shims) 3.5*
etc etc

J1 can be replaced with 54243
J5 can be replaced with 54242, 54291 or 54292 (no shims needed as they have 1mm built in)

----------------------------------------------------------

Hope this help.

try taking the shim out and see if the wishbone pin looks level and then try diff blocks till you can see the pin level, bit of a mess on but it would work

Ok i have looked at what block are fitted in my car :
Front 54242 Rear 54243 both 3degre.
I removed the spacer under the front block and turn upside down the rear block. It seem to me that the arms are flat.

Think we need Lee to shed some light on this one, because if what wwd posted is right that car belonging to guinness should still have 2.5 degrees of antisquat and as guiness has said it looks level

I'll explain.......guinness is running 54242 on the front with no shim, but 54242 alloy already has the 1mm shim built in ( so same as using j5 with a 1mm plastic shim ) but because guinness has turned 54243 upside down it lifts the pin more level by 1mm ( its printed on the leaflet that comes with 54243 ). now following the formula that wwd posted every 1mm lost or gained equals 0.5 degree of anti squat lost or gained, hence j5 and j1 with a 1mm shim equals 3 degrees. change that to a 2mm shim and you get 3.5 degrees, hope everybody is with me so far
so guinness should still have 2.5 degrees anti squat according to that formula ( running 54242 is the same as using j5 with a 1mm shim, but he has lost 1mm by turning 54243 upside down or 0.5 degree from the standard 3 degree )

now to quote my original post, i think 1mm gives 1 degree and it makes sense, because guinness says they look level and it would. 54242 on the front, 1mm shim built in remember (same as j5 and 1mm shim), then flipping 54243 upside down looses 1mm equals...... 0 degrees, ( he is canceling out the built in 1mm on 54242 by loosing it at the rear by turning 54243 upside down) I still could be wrong though
