Default db01 and novak 4.5 help

Don't know if anyone can help i had my 4.5 in a BJ4 and the aceleration was nothing short of mental. I've taken the system out and put it in the DB01 and I have nowhere near the same aceleration. It seems to take quite a distance to get to top speed. The diff and slipper aren't slipping and the drive line is free. The BJ4 was geared at 12.19 and the durga is geared at 12.437, am I being really thick and missing something - can someone tell me?

belt absorbs energy on initial acceleration whereas shaft drive doesn't and transfers it very well, and as long as there is grip, all is good, you may just need to gear down a little more.

Slightly off-topic but I am considering going the 4.5 route myself, is it controllable or just a total handful?
