Default ko 2.4 module problems

my vantage 3 is driving me nuts at the moment, basically powers up and pairs up fine when ever it doesnt matter until its time to start a heat then it decideds to not work, the light on the back of the module comes on and goes straight out when this happens, ive checked the pins/ contacts look ok occasionally it seems to come back on when ive messed around unclipping the module and trying to move it in and out but maybe a coincidence not sure, tried a mates module an its fine so definately a mudule issue just wondered if anyone can tell me what it is or if theres a fix before i buy a new one any advise much appreciated

I have a similar problem with my KO 2.4 set - do you find it's worse indoors?

Unless in your case it is a connector problem as I understand it, it's to do with the way the KO system works - it's looking for two clear channels before it binds and is ready to use. I'm guessing that does it when you're about to start a heat because not only do you have a rostrum full of drivers with active radio gear but you also have a group of drivers who have just switched on ready to go on - possibly up to 20 drivers + whoever is tinkering in the pits... So it's actually by design rather than a fault - it won't let you use the gear until it's sure it's locked on, but I totally agree with you, it's a right pain in the 'arris and always seems to be at the worst moment, always seems to get me whilst gridding up for the final!

You said you tried a mate's module and it works fine - but are you trying it at this same busy time?

I now try to get around it by giving myself plenty of time before the start of the run to get the bind sorted - annoying though!

I think there are knowN issues with the spectrum module in the back of the ko 3. Basically the fit is not snug enough and can allow the module to wobble on the pins. I think people put tape round or bits of card to make it more snug. Mine defo has tape round it. I'll see if I can find the article, worth a shot before buying new bits.... Just realised you are taking about ko 2.4 ignore me
