Hi all need some help with my brothers mad rat. Basically he has broken the from lower chassis plate twice as well as the rear t piece which we have replaced with a carbon one. So does anyone know of anywhere to get a stronger front plate? Or am I going to have tO make one?

The damage you mention is caused by heavy impact landings... a bit of chassis slap is a good thing most of the time but you have to be mindful of it. All the evidence so far (bad driving aside) points to the wrong suspension set up...before you do anything else do some testing at your track WITHOUT other drivers and get the shocks set up. It sounds to me the car is running very soft on the front and the impact is being forced onto the chassis and not the shocks, maybe run some harder springs and increase the weight of the shock oil. Oddly enough if you do harden up the front remember you might want to add some ballast to even things out or possible drill the piston holes a wee bit. J |

Hi.
we found that using longer screws to attach it to the chassis helped.

I believe these parts do wear on the 2 corners where it turns thinner for the front end of the car, which causes it to be a lot weaker therefore easy too break, would advise Kevlar as not heard/seen this on them. Though I've not had any problems with mine and after quite a lot of use mine is still not worn on these 2 corners. Just my 2p
