Default BRCA membership - Affiliated or full??

Ok, I should probably know this given Ive been a member for the past 5 years, but whats the difference between affiliated and full membership? Im just about to renew mine online and it gives me this option, affiliated being £14 and full £16.

I think club you have to have a certain number of members to be classed as a club and then you get 4 free memberships for officials. sometimes this results in a delay because the club secretary has to wait until he/she has X members paid up to send them off.

I think the club membership is £80 though for the year for the club to become BRCA affiliated.

Despite being the vice chairman of the Ludlow club I'm not 100% familiar with this so I could just be talking bollocks...

Carl is correct.

Not sure how the BRCA know how to verify whether or not you're joining a club as well...

affiliated is where you join through a club and they do all the admin, hence slightly reduced rate @ £14

full is where you join direct to brca and they do all the admin and send stuff inc handbooks directly to you, hence slightly higher rate of £16

wasn't aware you could join online using the £14 rate thought that option was only available through a registered club (you may find your application returned ?)

hope this helps

Been both over the years (and somehow last year was actually both at the same time!) and never noticed much difference other than what my membership card says, and the fact that I get Circuit Chatter direct. Not sure what will happen now thats gone digital.

I've done quite well, i've got 2 cards!! lol. One specifies that im a club chairman, the other is just as if I'd joined normally!!

No excuse for losing a card now tho, unless 2 go missing.

evidently, there was a hiccup in card processing with a particular batch where there was no records of the cards being sent so all the cards in that batch were re-printed to be certain - hence why some lucky people now have 2x cards for 2012
