Default Petit RC 2012 at Ardent Raceway - Jorn takes 2wd and short course titles

The oOple B team were reporting from Ardent Raceway in Kings Newton, Melbourne (UK) for the annual Petit RC event, which saw drivers from 14 countries battling out for the title. Durango dominated the A final with 7 cars making the top 10. Jorn Neumann is no newcomer to the Petit event having won many times over and this weekend was no exception, Jorn walked away with the Short Course title after Hupo TQ'd. Jorn also won the 2wd title after racing 5 very strong qualifying rounds but with just one A leg win it was down to the fastest time to resolve the tie on points between Jorn, Hupo and Kevin. Check out the B team report here on oOple, and keep checking in for updates from the 4wd event.

Great to see ooplers Vicky , James Helliwell and Stu again after some time Greetings to Jimmy also -looking forward to catching up with you in one of the upcoming events.

Regarding the RB5 conversion, chassis is narrow 3mm alloy with plastic sidepods for the electronics, you can tune flex by adding /removing some of the alloy siderail screws. Plastic side rails will also be ready and available in a couple of days. The facts that I am racing on full carpet tracks at this level of event twice a year ,the chassis ready for the race was the +8mm one that didn't suit the tight technical track an the fact that I had never raced before on those tires probably do not help but anyway we did give it a shot .In the last qualifier the car seemed to work well (much better than me ) and could have probably been even better had I removed 1 row of front studs.Vid of one of the first outings of the car in the petit here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJxoa...ature=youtu.be .In the final I was honestly ready to sleep...(the first day was very long-finishing at 21:00 and certainly put on a lot of strain on all of us who flew from abroad) so I just drove it around .Worth noting is that the conversion allows the car to be built in both mid and rear versions.I will be opening up a thread with info about it.Large array of machined plastics, aluminium and steels in our cars also. Big thank you to the set up master, Mr Ralls for his help . Big thank you also to Argiris (who drove brilliantly to win his final by the way) for his help so far in the RB5 project - he arranged to have the personal RB5 SP2 of the Greek Kyosho distributor available for me to put our conversion on and race it in this years Petit event.Argiris will be testing the RB5 conversion on dirt in the upcoming months

Greetings to all friends we met again and the new ones we made and Mr Petit for making the event happen despite all the difficulties.

Manolis and Chryssalenia

Nice report.

However I believe you are trying to fool us, the picture of ladybower has been uploaded upside down, either it's a genuine error on your part as it is a great photo of the millpond that it obviously was that day,

Or

You thought it was April 1st.;-)

Easter egg spotted.

Unless you have spoken to Rob, he needed some top-end hints before he got it.
