Hi all,

Used my 410v3 at TORCH today for the first time car felt good but had a roll and broke a CARBON front shock tower i wasn't the only person to do the same thing and both breaks happened in the same place Would like to know if anyone else has had the same problem?

Mark

That was 3 at TORCH yesterday then whereas for some reason every wish bone on the car broke on mine and i didn't even have any hard impacts anywhere?
Where as the old 2010 full fat i had seemed unbreakable?
Leaves the question of are the early V3 kits plastics sub standard to the old kits?

I broke a wishbone last week and the one I replaced it with looks to be a different shade of plastic. Make of that what you will, but I agree it raises questions!

Re the shock tower, check out the atomic carbon towers. Very good when I had them on a 410R and good value too.

RE the other aspects, can't coment.

Well i was going to sell one of my old 410 full fat cars but now all the plastics are going onto the V3 as have not got a lot of confidence after the weekend!
Will also take both old carbon shock towers as spares as well to area 51!
As well as this i also sheared 2 hinge pins and the quality of the material did not look the best, this could just be a biased attitude having spent some years working as a QA Manager for an F1 supplier!

I will be sending my shock tower back to Durango UK so they can look at how poor the quality is don't expect this from a brand new car on it's first run.

Surprised you broke one, given how slow you drive

Looking at the original one from my full fat and my broken one on my V3 you can see that the extra holes will make it weaker but it hs not been made wider. I am going to contact TD and see what they say.

Lol, seriously, that does sound odd that you all had issues. Has the track changed and added to the problem?

I broke my v3 (1st batch) on my 1st outing but I did land pretty awkwardly so I'm not surprised.

Sounds odd, assume you all broke towers at different points on the track? No other cars breaking as much?

The 'plastics' throughout the 410 range haven't changed from the very first batch of kits we made. There are no 'sub-standard' plastics in the kits.
Mechanics of the impact are probably making all the difference.

Hi Adam, could you tell me if there is a problem with the front shock tower or if you know of a quick fix?

Mark.
