Default Sanwa servo repair

After many years of faithful service, my Sanwa ERG-VRZ servo has decided not to play ball anymore. Occasionally it'll just stop dead mid-travel, leaving me going very wide mid corner

Seems to happen when moving the stick slowly rather than vigorously? Don't know if it's electrical or possibly a damaged tooth - does centre okay and 99% of the time travels to each end point.

Was told to contact SMD, but just had an email saying that they don't really carry out non-warranty repairs.

Anyone else out there that could take a look?

Cheers Fid - took it apart last night for a quick look. No obvious signs of any chipped or missing teeth, so I'm going with the electrical fault being the most likely.
