Default Tekin RS vs Hobbywing XERUN

Been looking around to get a couple of new ESC's for next year and Hobbywing is a serious contender not only because of the price but they seem to perform well too.

1 problem though, my GT10 is currently running Tekin RS with 1 cell li-po in to the ESC & 2 cell Li-ion pack to run the radio gear/servo etc spliced in to the on off switch lead, this setup works really well for me but looking to change maunfacturer next year.
Before anyone says 'Just buy the 1 cell version with built in booster' I want to get 2 or 3 Hobbywing xtreme stock esc's and use these ( small and light ).
Has anyone tried splicing in 2 cell li-po / li-ion packs in to the normal XERUN series (2 cell Li-po + ) or am I going to be looking for another brand or spending more money ?

I believe there is an explanation on how to do this on the HobbyWing site in the instructions download.

Default HW

Thanks for the reply. Checked on HW site and there was nothing there about 1cell operation and downloaded instruction manual for XERUN and again nothing there. If you have a link that would be great.
