Default x2c

I built a new x2c today and it is sounding very rough, could it be the ally idlers or does it just need to break in?

Thanks

Sam

They are a bit noisier. Use a bit of grease and it should be fine. If its loud check the diff and slipper are working properly.

If I were you I'd take the gearbox apart and clean all parts to make sure they are ok and rebuild again. Its better to be safe than sorry. If you've put metal gears in, one of them could have a bit of fash on it or something.

Did the old gears get chewed up? Chances are there is still some plastic stuck in between the teeth of the gears. Only takes a small amount to make it noisy and rough

I dont think so i got them with my first x2c, I'm a beginner at building diffs so it is most probably that, or I didnt have any black grease so I put diff lube on it, would that do it?

Black grease is only needed for the thrust race. Diff lube would be fine for the gears. I bet its your diff. Best to rebuild
