Default ezrun 5.5t b4 help

hi i have a are-2 put a ezrun 5.5t b4 motor combo in it have a ansmann 7.2v 3000 mah battery got a 7.4 5000mah lipo on order, the car is all set up as recommended but in forwards and reverse it stutters is this due to my battery and will the lipo battery fix this problem? any help grateful thanks

Default gearing

The lipo will almost certainly solve the problem, but check you are not geared too high.
The cheap nimh batteries you are using wont have enough power to run the brushless system without cogging (stuttering).
you will need a lipo charger.

I run a 23t pinion in the X2c with standard spur - any higher and i find it tries to cog. Still fast as anything though!

I also lowered the timing on the speedo down 1 from the stock setting.
