Its like a warzone round here.

Aye, England sucks. You do know if you caught the little fuckers and tw@'d them it'd be you getting arrested.. and to be honest, id give a tw@ ting worth being arrested for too.

Why have things gone so crazy? Probably cos the way benefits are handed out, it encourages under-acheivers to become young single mothers, and then there children get no love, have no values or respect. Then the children from good homes are lead astray by the wrong kids.

Sorry to hear about Vicky's car and the window.

Still police up the road- lights off waiting to stop and search anyone they see.. but still, not enough is it when I jump at every lil sound, ready to run out like a mad man brandishing the worlds biggest camera all primed to beat them senseless with it..

Really not happy round here, its rubbish. :| *sob*

As much as I would like to agree Chris, but I think that is just a pawn in the social disaster that is Great (laughable) Britain. Probably being older than most of you on here, I remember growing up as a kid in the 70's and early 80's and things chenged dramitacaly through them years.

It isn't the bennefit system that cuases these issues but it is more to do with the fact that we went to being a country run by Goody Goody type people. When I started comprehensive, the teachers were allowed to pull you out of your chair by the hair on the back of your neck, smack you cross the hand with a ruler and dish out corporal punishment. Now, I will admit this is something that should not be used lightly but should be there as a deterrent. We all mostly behaved in school, and our parents were allowed to smack us and we respected the authority.

Today, I see parents without the backup and belief in them that they know when a smack is a smack and not a darn flipping beatin. As far as the Police have been told, if it leaves a mark, it is abuse. So, you got a boy/girl who is misbehaving and you try other things to no avail, so you go to smack the bugger for being misbehaved, what goes through your head.... best not, and the child, who is in the know turns to you and says, 'you hit me and I will phone Social Services'. The same thing happens in school.

Parents and Teachers have lost the right to 'control' a child.

But it isn't all the SS and governments fault.

How many kids do you see having tantrums cause they want something?? I see loads, mine don't do it, I got 5, they can try, but as soon as they use Tantrums or anything like that, they get fook all, but others get embarassed and give in, thats called 'behavioural conditioning' so the child learns REAL QUICK on that one.

Jim, one little peice of advice, if you ever EVER catch someone in your house and you decide to give him a dam good beating, make sure it is at the bottom of the stairs or on the stairs. The law is pretty adamant, if the 'visitor' is found downstairs, then no intent ot harm the occupants were there, if the intruder goes up to the sleeping area (upstairs) then you are allowed to use 'reasonable force' to protect you and your family. Just make sure he 'falls down the stairs' in the struggle.

Jim, good luck mate, sounds like you got a group of 'ellusives' that the Police know who they are but have to wait to catch them 'in the act'

agree with you there steve, and as im probably older than you,we did respect our elders and other peoples property as they were not adverse to giving you a clip around the earhole,we hung around on corners in our teens but that was as far as it went, there was none of this happy slapping etc,a form of mutual respect was in order, fortunatly i live in a quieter part of york on the outskirts and it's very rare to see an unruly element around our end which is a god send, but i myself would cause major pain to however tried to get in or damage my property or personal property or harrass my wife and kids,so it is a shame about the grief you are getting around your end and i hope you catch the scum, reasonable force or not jimmy they deserve evrything thats coming to them

yeah, and as much as the current benefit system is inherrently wrong, I bennefit from it after splitting from my wife and having 5 kids.

If you allow kids to 'get away with things' from a young age, they get to a point that they feel 'invincible' which is ALWAYS a bad thing.

Some things my kids are tought

Self Respect
Pride
Politeness and manners
Discipline
Self Control
Respect for property

My kids know that if I caught them willingly damaging/breaking/being spiteful etc they are in trouble, they know not to have hissy fits when they don't get something.

Some things they get from me

Trust
unconditional love
respect
lead by example

There are kids around here I absoloutely hate due to how they 'behave' and it is never 'that kids fault' when they are in trouble according to their folks.

This behaviour is endemic of a society now so scared to tackle unruly youths, you even think twice about escorting a child to customer services in a shop if you think he/she has lost it's parents.

Society is CRAP now, give power back to parents and teachers and not use the rule of DUMB, in other words, creating laws to cover the lowest common denominator of life, so we ALL get treated as prospective child beaters, peadaphiles and abusives....

Someone take me soap box please....

That was the crazy thing, I don't actually think they took anything. Pulled stuff out of the glove box like my mini CD player, and left it on the front seat... like, what the chuff?
But yeah, fortunately he is fixed, but for how long I don't know :S

They did with my mum's car... there was money and my MP3 player in there but they didn't take it. They picked up jewellery boxes from the driver side pocket and left them open on the seat... but they'd been empty anyway.

To get in to my mum's car they drilled / poked a hole in the metal of the passenger side door, next to the handle and screw drivered to unlock it... MAD.

Jimmy,
On a slightly more positive note, we used to get alot of trouble round my 'rougher' side of York. I've had 1 car stolen and another broken into (admittedly a while ago) and alot of problems with gangs of kids harrassing a women with mental problems across the street. As you can imagine with 30-40 kids outside your house most nights, damage happens. This went on with apparently no help from the police for most of last summer. Just cos they don't appear to be doing anything doesn't mean that they aren't, though. Don't know exactly what did happen (!) but this year has been great and it's a nice place to live again.
So, 'chin up', Jimmy. Things can improve!!

it is to do with them going near the sleeping area of the house... so if they enter a bedroom... hell... you got the right to defend in beleif that you are about to come to harm.

I used to hate when the little a$$holes would just smash my car windows for a laugh.
I have a simple comparison for you to where I live now - JCBs, diggers, etc are left on the job sites here over night with windows wide open to the world

I wonder if its legal to publish photos of minors and accuse them of crimes ?

Bah, who cares. I just saw these lil bastards smash a Taxi window as it drove past. They ran off, here they are 5 mins later.

So anyway Mrs.oOple, where are those emigration forms ?
