Default Newbie with a problem accelerating

Hi Im new to this hobbie and just bought a cougar sv with lrp esc and motor. Finally got the radio gear and got it up and running today. Problem I have is that when I push the stick all the way forward quickly the car just kinda of stutters until you release the stick a bit and then it gos! Its fine if you push it forward slowly just not when doing it fast. Im sure its probably something I havent set up properly but can anyone give me an idea what the problem could be please?

The tansmitter is a Etronix Pulse 2.4g. Do I need to set something up on here maybe?

What kind of batteries are you using?
Just a wild guess, but it sounds like you're using "NiMH' batteries (and not LiPOs) - and if that's the case that's your problem.
If you're using LiPO batts, then it could be that you need to go through the "set-up instructions" of your ESC.

OK - then, did you "calibrate" the ESC to the radio after installing the new BL system?
If not, it definitely needs to be "set-up" following the included instructions that came with the ESC.

Otherwise, only other thing I would potentially question is your wiring - bad soldering, loose/worn connectors, or what the call "a pile of spaghetti" wiring with a jumbled pile of wires running everywhere and cris-crossing each other haphazardly.

Could be that the speedo needs to setup for lipo (not the nimh setting).

Other than that, try a new sensor cable

Definately sounds like a sensor based issue. Hopefully just the cable that needs replacing

Does the lrp use capacitors?

If you try and use sp or hw speedos without them the same thing your describing happens.

Yes there seems to be a capacitor attached. I guess this could be faulty aswell.

Deffo sounds like a sensor wire problem, the way you describe it, sounds like what you would call 'cogging'. Sensor wire will fix it .

I had exactly the same problem with the etronix pulse I tried. Was in a B44 with a LRP Sphere 2007 TC spec running a SP V3 6.5 motor. Switched back to my old Sanwa 40mhz and the problem went.
Up until last month I was still using the same equipment as above without problems.
Does make more sense to try a new sensor cable before tranny and receiver, though...

Sensor wire is worth a shot, but I hate to say it's the problem with buying used (esp. electronics, are a risky venture).
Also before laying blame to the car's electronics, make sure the radio gear isn't the issue.

if the motors is stuttering its usually the sensor wire or sensor board on the motor, but that doesn't mean to say that the speedo isn't faulty hard to say need to go through them one buy one to eliminate one
