Default Telstar Racing meeting 26 October 2011

Hi All,

It seems that the big jump went down like a lead balloon with some people last night, with others loving it. For those of you who hated it, I can confirm that we will not be using it next week.

If you want to book it via the website then booking in will go live tonight. For those wanting to pay on the day if you could respond to this thread please so I can get an idea of numbers.

On another note I have a large box of Answer RC inserts, which will be available for £1.00 per pair trackside.

I have been asked by a few people about membership, in return for a reduced race fee, discount on shop items, have you got any thoughts regarding this?

All tracks are like Marmite, you love it or you hate it. The jump itself was not at all difficult, you didn't have to clear it to get a good lap although some chose to, but it wasn't the fastest way round the track.

As always, when building tracks, we listen to the people who have to drive them so next weeks track will be much more forgiving yet still challenging enough for everyone

I take (almost) full responsibility for last nights track and appologise to anyone who hated it, come along early next week and add your thoughts to the layout, all ideas welcome

You can take responsibility for the jump mate, that was your baby last night!

As you say though, wasn't a need to launch over it in one go and the rest of the track was good. Every weeks new and we're learning all the time so it's all good!

Although I didn't race much last night due too the 100 and tenth million problem after problem (thanks for everyone's help!) I did think it was a good track, the front jump was pretty good and challenging each lap which makes it more exciting right? I liked it and would deffo use it again, only set back is the extra time in preparation putting it together which meant less practise time and rushing through the meeting. But all in all yet another good track at Telstar!

With a membership I do think that's also a good idea especially when the word discounts come into play :P

The jumps and features will get quicker to put up as the weeks go by, it's just trial and error, Telstar wednesdays are in their infancy and in my opinion this is an excellent facility for all to enjoy that will go from strength to strength with your support. As has been said already, some tracks will be loved, some will be hated, but for me that is the challenge. Get involved and support this facility and bring along all your ideas so we can create the type of tracks that you, the racer, will enjoy. Matty will invest and purchase new carpet etc when the funds allow and this will create an excellent off road RC venue for OUR future

Matty, weldone on run the club, seems like your getting some good feedback. Tracks dont suit all but as long as the majority have a great time, then no biggie

Another great nights racing with Telstar, good track with some nice little features!

Also thanks to the (same) few that actually helped pack up the track... although it would be an easier task if more helped out!
