Default Newbie (ish) coming back to racing?!

Hi guys,

Registered as i'm looking into getting back into racing but with my 11 year old son this time.

I gave up around 1995 after 10 years racing at my local Medway Off Roaders track, and in the regional and SOWL races.

Was looking at Maritime racing, and getting into 1/10 on road, but i'd much rather go offroad and see they have an offroad track in the making....but no other news?

Are there any other tracks other than EPR (great to see that open again!) and Faversham?

Glad to hear your making a come back, yes off roads where it's at!

Although the Tamiya Mini's are a good crack at Maritime on a Tue night. Yes Maritime have a track in the making, keep an eye on here and the Maritime website for updates, there is Off road wars there in Feb.

As for Kent yes you right Eden Park and Faversham, both great clubs!

We meet at Faversham every wednesday night ( Winter Sunday series too ) pop in and take a look, lots of kids there too for your son to race with.
Just have a chat to the club members there and they will get you up to speed with what you'll need.

Alot of the Faversham members race at Epr and they have a great winter series on the first Sunday of every month.

Hope this helps!

Hi Mark,

thanks for the reply! i do hope maritime get up and running as it will only take me 10 mins to get there so is ideal.

I didn't really want to get too involved with travelling around too much, but i think its inevitable when the bug takes a grip again!

Have been into RC helicopters for a few years, but they are too expensive to crash!

Rich

Check out our full details on our website and specifically our membership details here:

http://www.edenparkraceway.com/about.htm

As an added incentive any driver that were to join at this time of year would have their membership carried over for the duration of 2012 as well.

Keep an eye on our section in this forum as the regulars invariably meet-up for either work parties and/or practice on most Saturday's.

In the SE there is also Plough Raceway in the village of Leigh, who participate in the Regional series and are due to announce an additional Autumn meeting very shortly!

Hope this helps too!

No probs, best get yourself off to Epr or Faversham for a look before you go buying your gear as we can give you lots of good advice

Our buggys fly but they are not too £££ to fix when it goes wrong!

I'd stay in the warm at Faversham get back in the grove of racing and do the Epr series too, there is also some great winter meets on MK gp etc etc

Also Maritime Raceway are also in the process of building an indoor off-road facility which will be used for racing on a nominated weekday evening, with plans for some Sunday meets as well as participation in other forthcoming events.
Best you check out their section on this forum to see the lataest position with this very exciting development!
