Default X6 rear toe block

Ive been running the 4 deg rear toe block, but wanted to know what difference it would make with the 3 deg block on (Other than altering the angle of the wheel haha)

How would this affect the handling ?

TA, Mike.

3 toe in will give you slightly less rear end grip,
will make it rotate slight quicker as a consequence of the low rear end grip,
and make it slightly quicker, in theory.

Its not quicker if it over rotates for your taste ofcause, LOL. Thats how I find it... although 3 deg suits me if im on an extremely high grip track with no slippy parts, i.e. Belgium.

Mike, what do you want your car to do? try it back to back at the next race - perhaps take some cells charged to Worksop and have 2 practices.

Cars ace at worksop mate. Just on the slippy stuff at batley the rear end was "loose".

I thought if the wheels where straighter grip would be better, ie driving in a straighter line.

Nah, your theory is back to front. If your wheels are straight there is less stability and grip, if the tyres are pointing in - driving towards each other, stability is increased.

Take it to the extreme and run toe out, if you imagine when turning right, the two wheels on the left will be both trying to turn the car. To that extreme it almost feels like driving a car with rear wheel steering.

So running toe in on the rear means the two left wheels when turning right, are both pointing in, and so even if it slips a little - it won't feel like its slipping til it slips a lot. it generates more grip and doesn't spin the rear out, but can make the front push.

I don't think you are gonna' cure that Mike.

I found the X-6 ace on medium/high grip, but a real handful on extreme slippy, like the polished at Batley - especially coming out of a corner.

Do you have the 4-gear conversion? That should make the car 'squat' a more and grip more like a traditional rear motor car.

Aaaaah, when I put your car down I spotted your E speed hangers pointing up, this (for me) made the car continue to pivot on corner exit. So just turn those things downwards and try it - I reckon it'll have the effect you want

Lifting the gearbox will make it drive more from a corner.

Also, raise the ride height above driveshafts level slightly, this will make it generate more grip.

Do all 3 - one at a time, and if you reach a point where it feels comfortable, leave it be.

Chris
