Are you using both types of grease when you build the diff and thrust washer assemblies (clear and black)

There is a good video on you tube of how to build and set a ball diff. Search for racer53, you may be overtightening the diff screw when building it up

I've never changed the bearings. I didn't use the silicone grease in the kit that looks like a little pot of vaseline when building the car, i tend to use teflon cycle grease instead rather than the silicone stuff. £6 a tube from Halfords & it's good stuff IMHO.

Ansmann high-speed diff grease is very similar stuff, comes in a tub that looks like strawberry jam. Part number 283000001 & about £6 a tub.

i have ceramic balls so thats not a problem. And ive set it its the lightest i can get it without it just spinning up. But i only used clear grease as thats all it said to do. So i'll watch the vid and have a look. Thanks for the replies

Associated black thrust race grease is what I've used on my buggy/SCT and I'm still on the original thrust race

the simple answer here is to either get a new thrust race and use a good amount of assoo black grease on it with silicone greace on the balls in the diff or what i would do for a little more inital expense install the B-fast diff kit = problem solved
