Default Vega b4.1,what's needed.

Hi,just won a b4.1 vega on eBay an have an x6 squared as a conversion does any one know if b4 diffs will fit the vega. Am thinking I will just need the wishbones and front hinge pin holder.

Any help greatly appreciated.

If the conversion you got is meant for a B4.1 you'll be needing the whole diff assembly as the B4.1 has a metric diff and the B4 and X6 used the older imperial diff. You could go for the gear diff too which will fit.

You might also need the rear hingepins too as the ones in the X6 are longer.

There are 2 different Vega B4 converions, one for the imperial B4 and another for the metric B4.1.

Only difference in them is the size of the outdrive bearings and the space between them, as the bearings on the B4.1 sit agiants some rings on the outdrive that the B4 doesn't have making the gap between them smaller in the B4.

you can use the b4 diff, but you will need the b4.1 outdrives and bearings

It can be done but if you have a b4 diff and a b4.1 conversion its better to order the proper outdrives.

I ordered the Vega kit before it was released and got a B4.1 conversion while I had a B4, so I had to order the outdrives and bearings.

To be able to drive it, as a temporary solution I put some spacers on the outdrive to widen the gap between the bearings so it would fit the housing.
And I also put a liner of tape on the outside of the bearings so they would be tight in the housing.

This was only a temporary solution and I rebuild the diff as the B4.1 outdrives and bearings arrived.

Ok thats better than I thought, didn't want to buy the whole diff really so if I only need the out drives and bearings that's a lot cheaper!!
