I'd love to have a longer wheelbase for our tracks. I have one car with an 11-1/4" wheelbase and it loves the track. It's very forgiving. It's not mid motor though. My shortest wheelbase car, again not mid motor, has a 10-3/4" wheelbase and is far less forgiving to drive. The CR2 is well under 11" and I'd really love to have 1/4" more in length. I'm running the rear hubs all the way forward and it just leaves a real short wheelbase that I'm not quite happy with.

Did you just flip the front arms over?

Lengthening the car was a good improvement.
Here's an optional way.

I had seen that thread and the use of XX4 front arms is interesting but I have my concerns about durability. Every XX4 that I see running on the tracks here seem to break arms and shock towers. Then again the XXX arms aren't exactly durable themselves.

I was playing around last night and I think I'm going to try running B4 inline steering parts. It will give me the 11" wheelbase that I want with the rear hubs in the middle position. The problem may be the wheel offset. I may have to use the RC10GT wide axles. Since they are inline axles they only make up for the wheel offset so they don't change the geometry at all. I'd then use B4 front wheels. I actually have this same setup on a couple of vintage cars. I'm going to give it a go and we'll see what happens.

I put shouldered bolts into the XX4 wishbones instead of the crap standard kingpins. Haven't broken a wishbone since - about 2 years of racing both classes every week and twice a week over the winter.

You can cut down B4.1 gearbox shoulder bolts to do this.

Default long cr2

Hi sorry to butt in I have just made my own losi mid motor long wheelbase which measures 286mm. I have only tested the car on grass in both wet and dry conditions and it is more stable than the standard version and produces more consistant grip. In addition I have also changed the chassis flex which is softer than the standard CR2 but stiffer than the original Losi xxx as I just didnt like the standard Cr2 the front to rear balance I just didnt like. The chassis flex has had the greatest effect on grip and the car feels much better front and rear especially when you use the losi alloy rear pivot block from the xxxt cr truck.
Also you can see in photos home made rear motor brace which attaches to the original gear box holes and through the Gea brass gear box brace and into the chassis. Currently testing rear anti roll bar kit proto hopefully will get all finished in a few weeks for my first run for years.

heres my long wheelbase cr2. It has alloy chassis and i use the lipo down the centre. It still has a shorter wheelbase than my x6 squared. Jonathan (a/c) has been really helpfull with the parts for this car. It goes very well indeed.
