Great phone - only had mine a couple of weeks but it's awesome.

Ignore Samsung apps and use the Market feature - it's petty much limitless on apps I've found so far.

Best tip is to close down all the additional home screens that you don't need to start with or you'll just end up confused. Also if you want to save some battery life turn of Bluetooth and WiFi until you need them. Some of the live wallpapers can drain the batt as well if you're not careful.

Only niggle I have so far is finding a comfy method of texting - but that's just me for having sausage fingers.

Has it not got Swype on there? I've got the S1 (I suppose that's what it would be called now!) and swype is a better layout even if you don't use all it's functions - it was preloaded but not activated as standard.

I have the S2 and yes it does have Swype enabled - just can't get on with it though. Already got one of the gear ratio apps installed.

I thought that until I changed back to the standard keypad and realised that I preferred the swype one!
Hmm will have to look at the gear ratio apps.

I've been very happy with my S1, can only assume the S2 is going to be an improvement!
I've downloaded 'McD's Finder', 'GPS speedo', 'sound meter lite' 'shopsavvy' and 'netcounter' alongside the usual things like youtube, photobucket, ebay, paypal, Kindle, facebook, bbc iplayer and skobbler (alternative to google maps)

Quick update from me. The package I got from O2 didn't have any internet allowance on it, as I thought I'll only be using the internet when I'm connected to mine or my girlfriends wifi.

First bill came in the other day - £65 for a £26 a month package! Needless to say I was a bit miffed. Contacted O2 who said because it's a "smart phone" it will run updates for apps etc at any time, but they said most of mine were late night / early hours chages, so recommended I leave it connected to wifi while charging overnight.

Did this and checked my bill after a few days, and found I was still being charged approx £1 per day for internet usage! Resigned myself that I would have to pay another £6 per month for a 500Mb internet bundle.

Was up at Bluewater the other night and though I'd pop into the O2 store to add the bundle. Spoke to one of the gurus who straight away said "Oh no - you don't need to do that. Just switch off the roaming connection". All he did was press the screen unlock button on the side, then press and hold it, and de-activate the data network mode. Sorted - it now will only connct to the net via a wifi connection.

Why couldn't bloody O2 have told me before and saved me about £40!!! Not to mention it would have been nice if Samsung had included a better operators manual . Only negative Ihave found so far though - and it's nothing against the phone itself.
