Default HELP PLEASE 502 DIFF

Hi guys can anyone shed some light on the diffs and best way to build them. I have rebuilt these 3 times to the exact method described in the instruction booklet. i have also followed lee's advice on methods for building the diffs.

The problem i having is that no matter how i build them and tighten them they either slip of the car pops wheelies. The slipper is set as booklet and i have tried re setting that to but with no avail. I have used all new ceramic gost and buds balls all round but still have the same problem. Lee suggested in his tips to fully tighten the diffs then back them off 1/8th of a turn, but still i have the same problem. i have used new diff plates new balls new this that and the next thing. HELLLLLLLP

Thanks

As per book with Ceramic balls works a treat each time ive re-built. My only advice is to sand the plates on a flat surface with some 1200 wet and dry with a little oil as even new plates aren't completely flat.

I also set diff tightness by hand before installing, then run them in by holding 1 wheel and giving it 1/4 throttle for 30sec, re-tighten/check and job done.

If the car is doing a wheelie, then its your slipper too tight and not the diff itself. Id check your slipper settings rather than blame the diff.

Mmmm this is a new one to me. I built mine as the manual suggested and got someone at my local club to check them and they've been fine ever since. Were you at Oople?? I spoke to a few 502 owners and wondered if I spoke to you lol.... I can honestly say I've never had any problems with my diff on the 502, you're sure your slippers not too tight?? That's what sounds like is making your car wheely....
Scotty....

Use the book as a starting point only, but after time and heat, book settings go out the window. Just set it so that it slips for the first 2 feet.

Hopefully Tamiya will release gear diffs for the 502x in the near future.
