My brother in Salford said they did the shopping centre over in broad daylight and then looted and set the lidl on fire whilst it was still open. bad times.

Looks like some sort of trend now going up and down the country,i live in walkden not far from salford,been told the shopping area has been shut most of the day as too manchester city centre,bet most of these yobs actually shop in some of these shops!!! JD sports has been done over but check out what there wearing..........trackies an hoodies probs bought from there,dont understand there mentality

mentality is that there are literally no repercussions for these people only gain - why pay for a tracky when you can steal it? There's a rumour that the Arndale Centre is now affected but I'm not sure on that one

Just been on news that its kicking off again here,Jessops and some more shops,should send in the dogs,let them have 10mins with the idiots then leave them to bleed to death,the rats will have a field day during the night

A lifetime ban from claiming any benefits for anybody involved might help. My bro and his mate have packed a bag each in case they need to get off quickly in the night as some houses have had their doors kicked in already. No one should have to think like that in their own house - this is not f'ing Mad Max!

I don't live in Manchester, but I'm at work at the mo in Ardwick. I'm a technician at a train depot and they've just stopped all trains.

This is all madness.

Time for watercannon, teargas and rubber bullets.

2 press photographers in london got set upon by a mob of 8 - 10 youths and were beaten with bats and bars. Had their 8 grands worth of camera gear stolen too. Probably why people aren't trying to photograph it any more.

On the radio one news in the car on the way home from work there was one kiddie saying he'd just gone out to make money, making out he'd been brought up with nothing and had nothing so it was the only way to get money. How effin' thick do you have to be, why don't you go and try and do something with your life, I dunno, GET A JOB or something to make money like the rest of society. They're just too thick to realise ! And this is what it's lead to
