Ok my lunchie shell is looking a bit tatty, have any of you guys rubbed a shell down before & repainted it? whats the best stuff to use?
Also what is the hardest wearing paint for the outside? would prefer airbrush paint if poss I have been after a parma clear shell but can’t seem to find 1 anywhere, saw 1 on ebay a few months ago but nothing since, any ideas chaps?

If you rub your current shell down you do risk loosing detail. If you only concentrate on the bigger flat area's you could use 800 or even 1200 would be okay. You should be fine with Autoair type paint but that said you'll probably get a better finish with automotive thinners based type paint but that needs other things too.

Could you not key the shell with scotch brite lightly and give it a couple real thin undercoat s and re paint it. I would have thought that if you keep the paint thin and the pressure right when putting the colour on that you'd get away with it.
Just my thoughts for what it is worth. ![]()
