Default gearing advice

I am looking for a suitable gearing starting point for the 22. It is geared on a 23 pinion to the kit spur - but it runs hot - not hot enough to thermal though.

It currently has a Tekin Redline 7.5 and RS-Pro installed. Cells are 4500 mah 40c.

Other than a couple of holes in the shell, the car is not cooled.

I do not know the temp of the motor after a run, I just know it smells hot and feels hot! Do the Tekins (like the LRP X12's) tend to run hot?

there's a section in the manual that explains which pinion to use on which motor to get the correct gear ratio follow that and see if it helps

It also might be worth having a look at the setup sheets from the team drivers on Petit to get a good idea of what they are running.

This weekend at oPple i was running a SP V3 7.5 with a 22t Pinion, then a 23t later on.

No holes in shell, no fan on speedo.

Motor was fine, speedo was getting warm, but hey.

The only thing i do, is lift the front of the shell as i stick it on. This way, there's a gap beneath the front for some air to get in and run over everything.

No of these drivers are as aggressive as jimbob :-)

He might need his own chart
