The connectors shouldnt matter at all Jamie.

Its true that the better connectors you use, the less resistance and the more efficient charge/discharge you will get, but for charging NiMH even the old Tamiya style ones would be sufficient.

Just make sure the charger is pumping out the correct Amps at the correct Voltage and you wont go far wrong.

Oh, and get the connectors the right way round!
Black to black,
Red to red,
...Blue to bits

What a frightful lot of swear words!

hehehe.
Absolutely no probs if amps is smaller (infact, thats a good thing when it comes to NiMH)
As you say, it will just take longer.

Does the charger have a built in cut off when the cells are charged? (like Delta Peak, or a temperature one?)

Im not 100% sure what you mean, but its hard to completely feck a NiMH what that charger so Im sure its ok.

Most important thing with NiMH is to discharge before charging, and the lower the discharge and charge amps the better.

Well thats one way, but bigger chargers can also discharge too.
If you are going to be sticking with NiMH for a while (rather than upgrade to Lipo) then I would advise getting a decent charger. Makes a huge difference to your batts and performance (well, it did for me anyways!)

Before I got my discharger, i used to run my car till it stopped from flat battery, then pick it up and it will run with the wheels off the ground - keep it spinning until it stops again, and thats the battery starting to get flat. Its the best you can discharge without a proper discharger I think.

If you want a good NiMH charger, I have my old one if its any use to you.
Thing is, Annsmann make a great charger which does both NiMH and Lipo so you might as well get it - it means you dont have to change charger when you upgrade to Lipo.

AN imax b6 charger is a reasonable investment to charge many types of batteries. Lots of club members have them...I have one and it performs well for my lipos.
