Default Racing in the West Midlands

Hiya all,

Im thinking of doing some 4wd 1:10 electric off-road racing in the west midlands

I used to race about 13 years ago (when I was 13!). Only did it for a couple of years, but remember going to some great meetings and seeing some cool tracks. I started off with a Tamiya Manta Ray, then upgraded to the Top-Force, then I raced a losi truck and ended up with a Losi JRX-pro which I still have! Just dug it out of the attick on the weekend! Though I think most of my old gear perished to say the least! lol...

So Ive been doing a bit of research on the net and it seems like Kidderminster and Coventry are the nearest clubs to me (Im in Worcestershire). Unless anyone knows of any smaller clubs this way? Sounds like there was a Worcester buggy club but they're racing touring cars now

Car wise, Id only be doing this for fun on a budget, but it would be nice to get something thats fairly competitive and has the option to upgrade. Based on the reviews on this site and info Ive found elsewhere, the Durga seems like the obvious choice.

Honestly all these photos of buggy's on this site have got me itching to build a car and get racing Any info about clubs / meetings in this area would be appreciated. It'd be nice to go along and spectate if theres any coming up soon.

Cheers

-Todd-

hi m8
im from worcester and as you say nearest club to run at are kiddy and coventry.....look at the http://www.brca-midwest.co.uk/ for some other clubs in the region

worcester model car club run's touring car's (friday nights at nunnery wood school) , worcester buggy club only ever ran buggy's but unfortunatly the helpfull local council took our track of us (perdiswell leisure centre) nearly 3 years ago saying they wanted to build on the site, todate still as we left it..

The Hereford Radio Car Club race indoors on every other friday too, at Leominster. We are racing tomorrow night, after that, our next meeting is on the 1st Feb.

we race mainly on carpet, with jumps and features, its probably your most local club i would think.

Cheers for the quick replies guys.

So was that Worcester club the same one that ran through the 90s? I used to go to one at the leisure centre. Shame its not running now.

Im in Evesham so Hereford's roughly a similar distance to Kiddiminster - maybe a little further. Friday's not the best time for me, but might try and make it along one week.

Can anyone help me out with contacts for the Kiddy and Coventry clubs?

Cheers!

I lived in Evesham for a very long time (85-2003), maybe we've raced together back in the 90s.

If your in Evesham your only a few minutes away from the best service in the UK model industry .... Dom @ DC Racing. If you've not already got in touch with Dom then I suggest you do so. Not only will he get you back on track with the right kit at the best prices but he is a wealth of information too ...... just don't mention Toyota Celicas unless you don't have anything else to do for a few days ... LOL
