Ok this all depends on what firmware / features you want to run and if you want to be able to do firmware updates etc.

If you are running a firmware of 528 or earlier then the LED cards are cheap (£10) and will be fine, anything later than this and/or you want to be able to do firmware updates you will need an LCD programmer.

Link to LED programer http://www.racersinexile.org.uk/Hobb...0_3763526.aspx

The LCD programmer is £20ish
http://www.racersinexile.org.uk/LCD_...0_1607319.aspx

And this gives you several benefits over the LED card;

1) You get a description in words of each adjustment your making on the screen (so you don't have to remember what parameter 5 actually is)
2) You a description of the meaning of the setting value too (so instead of getting "7" you get 85% max brake on the screen)
3) You can use it either as a firmware update interface or an interface to make adjustments on you PC (incase pushing little buttons doesn't appeal to your inner geek)
4) My fav' ... the LCD programming box can hold the values for 3 individually named profiles in it so you can update ALL of your settings at a single stroke. I use this to keep a "Smoooooooth offroad", "PUNCHY" and "Slippery When Wet" settings stored so if the grip changes I can get it all done on the way to the rostrum if needs be

Hope that helps ... I will post up my profiles when I get a moment (downloaded directly from my LCD card of course )

Just so everybody is clear the Speed Passion LED cards work fine with all HobbyWing firmwares up to 528 ... after that NONE of the LED cards work as they can't deal with the added functions.

So, if you want to use the latest functions (like turbo etc.) you need the LCD card.

You can actually get the firmware straight from the LCD box ... as it connects to the ESC it flashes up the code, in the middle of that is 3 numbers + 3 letters (something like 528MOD or 119STK) ... all the info you need.
