Default Driveshafts in Durango really hot?

Why would my centre driveshafts be getting so hot that you can't touch them?

Concerned as this could affect the temps of the lipos that are 4mm away

Seized gearbox bearing? or just dry. try oiling the bearings.... if you flush them before building.

Or the CVDs might be dry, I always kept mine greased up cos mine got warm.

Or possibly the meshing in the gearbox maybe pushing the pinion onto the bearing making them tight.

Or make sure the CVD part that fits over the pinion shaft is located properly and not clamping the bearings.

or its something else binding. just need to go over everything.

The smallest amount of grease will make all the difference. Give them a bit of a clean before application.

I can't say I've ever noticed that mine are getting hot or even warm really.

I ran mine dry, as no grease was called for in the manual, whilst it's always good to lubricate moving parts, with the environment our cars operate in, it doesn't always seem best to do so due to contamination etc. But the cvd's on the centre shafts do get extremely hot if run dry. So, that's not good either. The lesser of the evils is to put some grease on.

The heat is unlikely to be noticed, unless you happen to touch the cvd straight after a race.
