Managed to snaffle myself a x2te and wanted to know how you guys fill the shocks as they don't have bladders in the cap!
Also don't any other make of big bore springs fit these shocks? Cheers Lee

Pretty much like filling associated shocks. I just fill to top and then fill the cap half full of oil before it put it on (it's tricky but it is do-able with practice).
Then bleed by undoing the cap and pushing the piston up screw it back down, and then do the same again if you feel a lot of resistance near the top of the shock stroke. Key is to get and even feel all the way through the piston movement and then a very slow re-bound. With regards to springs, Schumacher fit on but you need to also get schumacher shock bottoms, Kyosho go straight on but they are majorly expensive.

![]() Quote:
2. Push the shaft/piston to the desired rebound point. This will make a curve in the oil ) 3. Slowly screw the cap on the oil will bleed out the side (look for the slot in the thread) 95% of the way down. 4. Wait until you know all the excess oil has bled out then fully tighten. I hear the new Losi springs fit however I use the Team C springs they are very good.

Cheers for the replies guys
![]() I can see getting really messy lol Next question...... Do you mod the piston in any way, shape or form? I know I did with the smaller x-pro shocks by drilling out the holes slightly!

I just did what woody did:
From Je spares site: " Stuart Wood has been testing the Big Bore shocks and recommends the following starting setup to get you going. 30WT oil front and rear, drill out 4 of the 6 holes in the piston to 1.1mm in the front and 1.4mm in the rear." Personally I run 25wt in the back and 27.5 in front but it is all down to feel and I think they feel how I want them like this.

Cheers Robert
![]() Can I confirm that the front pistons are black and the rears are White/natural? Reason for asking is that I bought it second hand and ATM have no manual (ansmann site is the wrong one for the x2te) Cheers once again Lee
