Question Clicking Gear Diff on an SC10

Hi

I've just built up a second hand rolling chassis SC10 and the diff is clicking when I roll the car back and forward.
I've heard it can be due to the diff case shrinking slightly when made and the shims used then being a couple of thou undersized meaning the gears can slip when its built up.
Does anyone have any experience of this and know what shim I need to resolve the issue or know of another way to fix it.

Here it is clicking when I move it.
Click on picture to see video, make sure your sound is on.

Thanks for any advice.

Cheers

Just found this thread.
I searched diff first but clicking diff brought it up.

Sounds the same as mine. Thing is were do I get another two shims from?

So I need two more of these shims then?
The pin that holds it in did seem rather loose.

It says it's 5mm by 14mm. Anyone know how thick it is?

Well, I found some shims, stuck them in and it still did it. The sound seems to becoming from the pinion gear flicking back on to the spur gear due to the torque in the motor from the magnets or winds, whatever is in there. If I stick my finger on the pinion and push it the pinion can't flick back and it doesn't make the noise.
I'm going to ignore it for now then and just crack on and enjoy it.
Took it for its first thrash today, very fast and takes some careful driving but is great fun.
Needs new tyres and I know how to maintain it very well now after several strip downs so its all good!

Thats not the diff clicking as both the wheels are turning in the same direction so the diff isnt working. It works when the wheels turn in the same direction at different speeds.
The first thought I had is that its the motor being turned and sounds normal.

Thanks for the reply. That confirms the conclusion that I came to.
I'm just going to enjoy it and not worry about it.
