IIRC the Lazer 2000 was not based on a "proper" Lazer. Whereas the ZX-S(port) was based on the ZX-R, the 2000 was a slightly modified Lazer Alpha.

The Lazer 2000 and Alpha were Kyoshos attempt at a beginners buggy based in the original ZX and ZX-R design. It meant Kyosho kept the same transmission and suspension layout but went as cheap as possible where they could. It means the ZX and ZX-R suspension will bolt on, but you will need to replace the upper links to match the arms and uprights. You can fit better shocks, but you will need the ZX or ZX-R shock mounts. You can also fit the ZX-R slipper or the ZX-RR hyper clutch, but you will need to replace the whole layshaft assembly.
