Hi All,
Its my night for questions! Had my first day running a LIPO today, was very very impressed! However, is suggests storing at about 75% of charge, but how do I know what this is given you don't discharge them? Also, I know they are efficient but I was only able to get @900mah into the LIPO after each 5 minute run with a 6.5 motor in a 2wd buggy, does this sound possible? Its at that point that it has reached 8.4v and then drops the current to zero!? Dave |

Lipo's don't discharge as much as NiMH batteries do, so all i do is charge them up when I need them and that's it. As for the amps going in... Charging on a Lipo is CC/CV instead of Delta Peak. It charges at your amp rate until the battery gets to 8.4v (for a 2 cell pack). This is the CC (constant current) bit. At this point, you are somewhere around 90% fully charged. The charger will then reduce amps to keep the voltage from going too high until that last 10% or so is done. This is the CV (constant voltage) bit. This is normal for Lipo charging, nothing to worry about ![]() |
