Default KO Esprit III transmitter fault

Hey chaps,

I had a faulty throttle stick on my radio - opening the throttle then closing it would leave the wheels turning - approx 5-10% throttle. Applying the brakes and releasing the stick would stop the wheels. No amount of trim adjustment or esc recalibration would stop it. Tried different receivers, different esc, the common denominator being the transmitter.

Had the throttle stick replaced, and it was okay for a week or two, but now it's doing it again. Any ideas!!!!

cheers

Julian

When you say throttle stick, how much of the assembly was replaced?

To me it sounds like either the pot itself is moving in its mountings, or that the pot itself is worn out.

This happened on an esprit 3 of a friend of mines. Its the pot joint not centering properly.

If you go into the menu there is a setting there called "adjust vr", enter that then move the stick to full throttle and record the number it centers at, then go full brake and check the number it centers to again. It should be within 2-4 digits, if not then the pot joint will need replacing.

If the number is low, and its still doing it, you could always try increasing the "neutral band" on the ESC (if available).

Hope this helps.

Hi,

yes this sounds like it might explain it. I tried recalibrating VR settings, there is a massive discrepancy on throttle centre after applying full throttle, then full brake.

I will get in touch with the gentleman that repaired it!

kind regards and thanks for the info.

regards

Julian
