Default Speed Passion Stock Software when using Modified Motors

On Speed Passions website, I have noticed recently that the team drivers setups have been using Stock Software, with modified motors.
The drivers are then going down a motor wind from the normal 7.5 in 2wd, and 5.5 in 4wd to 8.5, and 6.5 respectively!

I guess this stock software is ramping up the performance of the motors, or providing more top end, so they can have smoother acceleration further down rpm band, keeping the car easy to drive.

I tried updating to the stock software over the weekend on my GT 2.0 LPF, but it wouldn't let me, when using the LCD programmer, and my PC, stating my ESC would not support the Stock Software.

How are the team drivers getting this stock software onto their GT2.0 speedos, or does it only work GT2.0 Pro Speedo, or is there something else I am missing!?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers
Mark

I've installed the software with no issues on my LPF, wasn't keen on it so reverted back to 205 MOD

I have the 528MOD software which has turbo timing etc. on my HobbyWing 60A ExRun which is basically the LPF (but cheaper) and it works a treat.

Hi all,

Managed to do it, by using the 1.36 version of the PC software, and am running 422stock (with the supercharger settings) as per Cockgod

Which programming box did you use; the official Speed Passion or the cheaper Hobbywing?

I used a 2nd hand speed passion, although they are the same! Mine even has hobbywing printed on it as well!

I'm running the Speed Passion stock software on my Hobby Wing 120a speedo, programmed using the H/W box. As far as I can see they're the same as the SP GT 2.1 setup for a fraction of the price. Have to say it works a treat and the boost and turbo features give superb top-end, really linear acceleration and low running temps.

MrMagoo would you be as kind as to share your ESC setups with these nice people?

I will do the same next time I'm next to both my cars and a PC at the same time.

I'll try and dig them out next time I have the car and laptop in the same place... being mainly a nitro head (and electric racer from way back when) this whole plugging a computer into your RC car is a novel concept

Mr Magoo is trying a setup i have been playing with and a few of us have been running in durango's at the local club with nothing blowing up so far! Seems very smooth and loads of speed We all have 6.5 motors and run 21-23 pinions with standard spur. Software is SP110323 stock and is on hobbywing and sp 120amp speedos. I don't think you can use the turbo functions on a 60 amp with low turn motors. Anyway the setup i use is below if of use. I doubt it is perfect, but appears to be a safe ish place to start, but you can't hold me to that

Main points are

1. Running Mode - Forward Only With Brake
2. Drag Brake Force - 0
3. Low Voltage Cut-Off - Not sure, possibly none
4. DRRS mode - 7
5. Maximum Brake Force - 75%
6. Max reverse force - 25%
7. Initial Brake Force - 0%
8. Neutral Range - 6%
9. Boost Timing - 15 degrees
10. Turbo Slope Rate - 12°/0.1s
11. Over Heat Protection - 95 degrees
12. Turbo Timing - 10 degrees
13. Boost Start RPM - 8000
14. Turbo Delay - 0.2s
15. Boost Timing Acceleration - 400 RPM / Deg

Planned tweaks are reduce 15 to 350 and maybe 13 to 6000 or 7000. Maybe reduce ddrs and up boost a little.

Cheers
Dave
