Default FOAM TYRES ? ?

These questions may have been asked before but here goes.

What is the type of foam rubber that is used in the making of the foam tyres we use on rc cars ?

I know there are mainly 2 types of foam rubber - American foam and Jap foam, Jap has a higher natural rubber content but what is the rest of the compound made from ?

Who supplies suitable sheets of foam rubber in the UK for the purposes of making foam donuts ?

Any advice or answers gratefully received.

these should do the trick.

1 doghnut will be enough to do one front and one rear. (on tenth buggy wheels)

I true them quite a lot and put a shape on them so they are rounded like normal buggy tires when you look at them head on.

It will go like its on rails.

If no jumps, try sticking some very soft touring car springs on at the front. I will be mental. You will prob need to make some spacers to fit them.

Hope that helps.

Default donuts

Thanks for your reply, I never heard of these guys before and may be a useful rescource.

What I was really looking for was a supplier in the UK or Europe of foam rubber sheet for making my own foams from scratch for 12th scale / V12 mardave.

Thanks for your input though, might get some of these donuts for my WGT.

Steve.
