Default What pinion???

Hi there
Currently race a b4.1 ft on a high grip astro indoor track! Esc is a Novak gtb and the motor a Novak 10.5 ss! Using the kit spur! Just wondering what pinion size I should be using! Currently using a 25 tooth and struggling to keep up with these new stock spec esc equipped cars! Will be getting new electrics in the not so distant future but just want to check that my gearing sounds about right!

Many thanks.

Hi,

I'm using a B4 with a Tekin 10.5 hooked up to my Sphere TC. I found that a 26 tooth pinion with 10 deg. of timing on the motor works well - plenty of punch, reasonable top end, and only slightly warm to the touch after 5 minute runs.

Or, a 28 tooth with no timing advance works OK too. Less punch, but decent top end, only warm to the touch coming off the track, happy days.

Although it's a bit of a squeeze....
