A few questions need answering first...

Whats your price range?

4wd or 2wd?

What do you want to do Bash or race

The worst thing you can do is come on these forums and ask that question!!! I know you may be thinking 'well i want to know'.

So, what do you do ????

First of all, take a look at Jimmy's reviews on this site.... they are great even for people who have been in the sport/hobby for years.

You should get some ideas about something you may fancy...

Then try calling a couple of the shops that are around, my advice would be The Raceplace/Team Xtreme or DMS Racing. Both of these are National standard shops who will be honest with what you are after.

Also look at local clubs etc... make sure you don't waste your money on something that you will later be unable to upgrade or race (if you are looking to do this)

Once you have done all the above im pretty sure you will be happy with your purchase.

My personal vote is the Predator X11 08 but there is also the RS version which is for starters.. but this can be upgraded to the 08 version!!

Enjoy....

I re entered the sport earlier this year and things had taken a step or two forward since the early nineties.
All i did was log onto this site , suck up some information and listen to what cars are being used.
Eventually i didnt go for the obvious choice ( predictable? ) and went for a yok mr4bx for a good price.

You pays your money , yous make your choice.

I don't think you can really go wrong with the modern buggys. Personally I love my 501x but unless your willing to carry your own full compliment of spares bough from HK I wouldn't bother with it as it would be a fair bit more hassle.

If I was buying a new car it would probably be the new Cat but simply based on the fact I've owned numerous Schumacher cars in the past and liked them.

Good advice

Are you in the states? or UK?

Take a look at all Jimmy's great reviews, and see what you think.

Also, take a look around the forum at all the advice and questions about different cars.. see what takes your fancy.

Again, my personal choice would be a Predator X11 08 because it's easy to drive, quick, and very strong.

There is an RS version coming soon that will be cheaper than the X11 08, so maybe you should wait for this if your budget isn't high enough for an 08?

There is also bundles of support from all the team drivers on the forum.

now where's lil ben?

Best thing you can do is look for a car you can get spares for easily, that rules out probably three of your choices depending on your local stockists. In most areas in the UK the spares for the Tamiya, Aero and Predator are limited so if that's the same in your area then i'd stay clear and go for a car that you can easily get the spares for and that other drivers of the same standard are driving so you can share set ups. It's ok to follow the best drivers set ups for a base setting but you need to get ideas from people of a similar ability to yourself.

Swings and roundabouts really.... on those two kits.

B44 is cheaper, but needs some slight mods for strength out of the box IMO, but the D4 WCE has everything you need I believe.

Go for the B44 if you don't have the money, or go for the D4, you won't be disappointed with both I think.

what strength mods does the b44 need? I've run the B44 standard for an entire year now weekly in and outdoors which has had it's fair share of vicious crashes and only broken 3 front shock shafts and 3 front wishbones! The car is pretty solid. Both the D4 and B44 are very good cars, one or the other may suite you better... neither is better until you've tryed both yourself, could be an idea to try your mates if you know any that have these 2 cars

The front shock shafts, and rear inner link mount have been re-occurring breakages on the B44 out of the box. Not sure if these have now been solved, but if Associated are anything to go buy, they have probably been sorted by now. Both are good cars tho. If it was me, and I had a B4 as well, it would make sense to get the B44.

Not sure if the D4 comes with a one-way or not in the kit, but that is an expensive addition to the B44 if you need one.

There is the problem - you are not thinking!! You must have listed 6 or 7 different buggys now and you still have not listened. What do most people at your track drive? That is the buggy you want as most help will be available for it.

Easy nick.... i better expand my answer..

Schumacher are a big company that DOES sell worldwide, and they DO have distributors in other countries, not just america and the UK, so im sure there will be other people in Russia using the cat.

Better thought out Response? <correct spelling afaik
