Default Mellow Yellow (Spring Question)

Need the help of you Kyosho guys please!

Tony E kindly provided me with a pair of rear yellow springs at RHR at the weekend, and have to say was impressed with them on my 502! So, was after part numbers to get some more, I think what I need is:

1. FS2 rear yellow spring part number (as opposed to the older one?)
2. Same for fronts, assuming 2wd and 4wd are the same? Was thinking of trying them on my Vega too!

Rears are 2.12lb" (similar to AE silver, half way between a Losi yellow and pink)
Fronts are 3.63lb" (half way between a Losi green and a Losi blue)

Lime green fronts are 3.89lb" similar to AE silver.

I've given the equivelents for comparisons only, Kyosho springs are much more consistent spring-spring than any AE springs I've ever measured.

Tony, I was just giving my measurements as recorded on the same spring tester (actually I think in the same testing session too).
It agrees with the AE and Losi values (almost exactly to the 2nd decimal place) you state but the Kyosho YELLOW #65 spring measured up as 2.12 and the DARK YELLOW #60 spring 2.03.

Just to complete the set the #68 blues were 2.16 and the #70 silvers were 2.21

When I first started driving the ZX5/RB5 a few years back there were several charts none of which agreed with each other. I decided to find out what was what and managed to aquire 5 full sets of AE, Losi and Kyosho springs along with some Yokomo and Schumacher ones too and spent many hours measuring and remeasuring using the £50k spring tester at work (out of hours of course). Some manufactures springs were amazingly good spring-to-spring and test-to-test (mounting orientation etc.) with Kyosho and Losi being the best of the bunch .... some others were hopeless.

My measurements were used to help create the spring chart on Petit RC and I am trying to get the same sort of thing done for the current big bore springs too.

Will let everybody know when it's done

Looking for someone to check the std FS2 "mellow yellow" springs unspring length for me please.

I have an FS2 that I bought new, springs measure 65mm rear.

I have a second fs2 that I purchased 2nd hand, and the springs measure 70mm rear

I have a similair difference on the front springs.

What is the correct length of the rear springs unloaded.

I've checked both sets I have, same colour to the eye, same number of turns over the 65mm, just 5mm longer, strange.

It was a running change. The longer rear springs are the older type (when we were running 54mm rear shafts). The shorter front springs are the older ones for the original RB and ZX5 where the front shafts were shorter (30mm????).

I've checked both types for rate and they are very very similar. For the sake of consitency I personally prefer to run the shorter 65mm rears and the longer (47mm IIRC) fronts on everything.
