Default Hauler bags revisited...

I really, truly am seriously considering a possible investment in a proper hauler bag at last (honest)! Fed up of my selection of old sports holdalls and IKEA blue bags.

I know that I DON'T want a 1/8th hauler because those blighters are HUGE.

I know that I DO want to be able to carry a setup board inside the bag as well as tools, shock oils, motor spray and small parts boxes.

So... what's nice on the market right now?

Fastrax seem to have a good value bag at £60-ish - but it looks a shade garish in the pics and I question the lifespan of the cardboard inserts.

H.A.R.D do a VERY garish green/silver hauler for about £60 also - seen it at the UK distributors site. Never dealt with them and never seen their stuff in other shops. They also do a classy black/grey hauler for £100-odd which has plastic inserts. Quite fancy that one.

The classic Team Magic F10 seems to be gone for good?

Anything else I should be looking out for? Your thoughts on what I've mentioned?

The Kyosho one is very good, comes in small, medium and large for £50-60

Hpi have one which is in the style of a luggage suitcase, with pull put handle which ive seen about and may treat myself too at some stage, can fit your TC inside aswell with ease.

Just a couple of sensible options that look smart (:

I love the F8 for my 10th gear, but the only niggle is it doesn't fit in the boot unless you lie it down lol

onto the back seat it goes now.

Fastrax is the way to go, Apex sell them. Has a compartment at the very top for your tools, four side pockets from small to very large. Been a great buy for me and carries two 1/10th buggies if you want (one upside down on the other), and all my equipment fits and some more but i cant verify if a set up board will fit as well as i dont have one.

I have a HPI Savage hauler bag, its large but carries everything I need. The top compartment fits a touring car but probably not a buggy, and interior boxes are vital. I've got it well packed with my KO box, and an RC18T box turned inside out along with more random boxes

Comet RC, the TM and HARD distributors, are a reliable company .. I know them well.

I have both the HARD hauler and the TM F10 hauler. I favour the F10 as it is slightly larger and has plastic draws.
The HARD hauler has cardboard draws and is good value. (Its green on the back but grey/silver on the front.)

Both have a tool rack, side pockets and a set up board storage pocket.

I think you would be happy with either.

They can both be had on the same site....

£60 for the HARD or under £100 for the F10

Default Is this the cheapest hauler available in 1/8th?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fastrax-Large-...item230c06c5bf

I cant seem to find any others at this price.

Just trying to justify spending £100+ on something that wont make me go any faster. Surely I should be buying new motor's or something vaguely exciting!

I love it's "Youthful Vibrant Style"

One thing that I find frustrating with most brands is the lack of measurements that they give. Before I buy one I'd like to be able to compare the internal drawer spaces of the various bags first.

Seriously considering one myself as my old Corally three cardboard drawer jobbie is no good for buggies as you have to remove wing or wheels to store in one box and other two boxes bursting at seams....

Choice of either the Venom VEN2007S or for about £20 more the Fastrax mega bag.

Respective website details siggest Fastrax is bigger at 60x60x37 vs Venom 53x60x35 but they look identical. Text for Fastrax says two large boxes and two small but picture indicates one large 4 small same as Venom one. http://www.fastrax-rc.com/rc-product...0004866&cat=ST any 1st hand experiance of either? be nice to keep all clutter in one place..

Heart and head say invest in bigger bag so when i run two classes I can keep both cars in one bag..

Trouble is, most of the smaller boxes seem to have cardboard inserts. My corally ones have fallen to bits (and I bought a second set which i have also fubar) and I didn't even put a wet, muddy buggy in them yet...

Maybe I'm just trying to justify the spend, but current bag doesn't quite cut it and is a bit of a pain.

I have the Fastrax Hauler bag, and I was choosing between the Venom and Fastrax. The Fastrax seems top quality, plastic draws, good strong zips, excellent handles and stuff (as good as Team magic!). I saw a Venom bag on Friday night and noticed it didn't look as sturdy, cheaper handle etc.

Infact, my dog jumped all over mine at weekend with muddy paws. The hauler was brand new, but the bag has wiped clean and still like new.... it should be after only 3 meetings though.

So I highly recommend Fastrax.

With the arrival of my second daughter, I lost my spare room, and with it all RC car storage.
I purchased the Fastrax Hauler, and have to say, its one of the best purchases I have made.
Both buggies in the top drawer along with my packed lunch, and all tools in top rack, spares for both cars in one small drawer, setup items in another drawer, wheels and tyres in another drawer, charger and tranny in another drawer, laptop in side pocket, screws and washers boxes in other side pocket, manuals and other printed material in the back pocket along with transmitter muff, and a little card holder on the top for my BRCA card. I only need to take the one back to any club meeting, regional, or national, everything is in one place (and it forced a declutter of useless junk Ive horded for years (and will inevitably need next week )

Get your hand in your pocket Dave, and get the Huge Fastrax bag...

From seeing them in the flesh the big Fastrax hauler is a lot better than the smaller versions.

But I've stuck with the holdalls for the time being! Managed to rationalise all my race kit into one holdall now which is working pretty well.

PS congrats on child #2!
