I have the 13.5t fusion exceed. Went from a 21T to a 23T found it better.

Just for a reference, I just upgraded to brushless on my Madrat.
I have installed a sp 7.5t motor and esc gt2.0 lrp speed passion and currently using a 24t pinion.

I gave it a test run on grass for 15min and the esc was just warm to the touch. the motor was not even hot.

I think it also depends what settings you have programmed into the fine tuning of your esc.

Crikey, didnt know you could go that high.
As mentioned in my previous post I have a 24t pinion.
Is that about right for a 7.5t brushless?

Slightly off topic, Is it safe to run without a esc fan as my current one is dead?

23 or 24 is about right for a 7.5t. no fan should be fine in a 2wd but keep an eye on temps. i ran a 27 pinion on a 10.5t and could have gone higher, prob best to fit a smaller spur actually as the motor is hanging way out back with a 27t pinion on standard spur.

I've just fitted my Fusion 10.5t and absolutely love it. Those Guys at Logic Rc are helpful and decent. Guys too. I'm currently running the stock pinion (21t) and a 6 cell NIMH pack. Would I see a noticeable increase in speed if I was to move to a 7 cell and 27t pinion?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

I don't really understand what you've said.

If you're using the stock 80t 48dp spur then you need a 27 48dp pinion.

Did they send you a 27t 32dp pinion? Like on 1:8 cars?

Get a lipo 40 - 60C rating, 4000 - 5500 mAh, 2 cell (S) 7.4 volt pack.

And yes put a 27t pinion on also, then you'll be impressed

Got a Turnigy 4000mah 2s 50c on its way from eBay so i'm looking forward to that. Also cut off the Tamiya connector and fitted a Traxxas connector. Will get myself that pinion. Have you got an Ansmann part # please? Cheers.

Hi.

You can purchase different sized pinion gears from Modelsport UK.
I ordered my 24t pinion and received it the next day. Very good service.

That will also help generate more power nice work. As jpmatrix said re the pinion any brand will be fine.

You need to post your top speed results once you have it all sorted

Ok, it's all great fun with this buggy. It can glide around corners unlike my Rustler vxl.
I bought myself a 24t and 27t pinion and kept my spur stock. With the 24t pinion and 2s Turnigy lipo i'd guess I was hitting around 35 mph. When I put the 27t on it was probably hitting around 40 mph, maybe more. It seems only marginally slower than my vxl that's geared higher. These are just rough guesses, but i'm very, very happy with these results. The esc is hitting 98.4F maximum temperature, and the motor has reached a maximum of 100.6F after about 10 mins of speedruns. Happy days.
Thanks so much for the good information & help.
Ps- it was quite windy and about 10c outside when I did this test, as it always is in Oldham. Lol

You'll love it when the Lipo is used, you really will.
If it wasn't so windy outside when I did my tests, I reckon my motor temp' might've been around 110-115F, so there's scope to gear higher.
Anyone tried anything bigger than a 27t pinion out of interest? If so, what was the result?
