Talking Newcastle RC Racers New Venue @ TyneMet

Hello everyone, further to comments in recent posts I'd like to confirm that Newcastle RC Racers (formally at Longbenton) have now moved to TyneMet College in Wallsend.

Our first meeting at the new venue will be 7pm to 10pm on Monday 28th February. First heat is planned to begin at 7.30 (we need everyones help to achieve this so please try to arrive at 7, there is a 'Zumba' class before so we can't get in earlier to set up the track). Race fees are £5 for both members and non-members, format is 4 rounds grid start qualifying and 1 final for each class.

The new hall is much larger than the old venue hence there is plenty of room to set up a track to accomodate both touring cars and buggies. The track is a polished wood floor which appears to be in great condition, I'd suggest sst 20 mini pins for Touring and either mini spikes or full spikes for Buggies (for anyone who is new to this!!).

Please call along whether you have or haven't been to the Longbenton club before, we are a friendly bunch and have plenty of room for more new racers.

The venue does have power though you will need to provide your own pit table, I would recommend extension cords also as the clubs are limited.

We are currently sourcing a rostrum for the venue and hope to have this sorted within a few weeks.

Full address of the venue is below, from the entrance gates, follow signs to the left marked as 'visitor parking', you can then park in the furthest car park and we are situated in the sports hall (this is the only building seperate to the main campus so it shouldn't be hard to spot).

See you all on Monday!!

If anyone has a decent camera (hint hint Mr West ), we can post some pictures here next week also.

Everyone welcome, part of the reason for changing venue was to try to attract new/old menbers back so come along and have a look.
Please bear in mind however that as it's a new venue, things may not run as smoothly as usual for a week or two.
And don't forget your pit table!
