how much weight do you guys put up the front end of your mad rats?? and where is the best place to mount it ??

Friend has his weight sat on top of his full sized servo!

I use the Alum front arm mount with brass insert.
TU0222 (Team C part number)
Approx 22 grams I think.

I have one of them also! TBH it don't weigh that much! I thought it would have been heavier!! A brass front arm mount would prob be a lot better!!

Yeah I have one of these. Really made a hell of a difference to the handling on my x-pro

Just make sure you change the screws that go into the servo posts from the underneath of the chassis for some slightly longer ones as obviously the plate will raise the servo up slightly.

How heavy in total is everyones?

My Mad Rat is approx 1575g - Max's Mid Rat is approx 1560g.

Neither has any weight up front (except for our 2mm alloy strengthening plates that are about 27g) and I was thinking about getting a couple of the rudebit plates but wasn't sure if that would make the cars too heavy.

What do you think?

I think in off-road it doesn't really matter how heavy the car is. I mean last year most of the guys running X6's were running them well into the 1700 gram mark. It's all about getting the weight where you want it these days.

Heavy cars are easier to drive more consistently, not ultimatley quick but easier to get round and are not as affected by small bumps and ruts. Best thing to do Jez is try it. I would definatly recommend some weight in the nose though.

Hi there, I just mounted the rudebits under servo weigth (nice!!) and I have an issue: the servo harm is now touching the body. I can imagine same happened to you: does this cause any issue?

Just use a bit of velcro on your shell instead of the front body pin.

Yeah I don't use a front body pin, just the two at the back. Can't say I noticed the servo arm hitting the body on mine.

One more thing: I also noticed the ballstud between the servo arm and the rest of the steering system is now hitting (slightly) the servo harm: did you put some spacers below the ballstud in order to compensate the height of the rudebits weight?
